LESSA announced its very own YMC Mentoring Program at a launch in August 2019. In line with the LES Mentoring Program (LMP) of LESI, LESSA designed its own YMC Mentoring Program to provide professional mentoring by senior members of LESSA to enrolled young members. The Program aims to bring value to LESSA by increasing interest in LESSA among younger licensing practitioners, to grow the membership among young members’, and to promote increased participation in LESSA activities. The Program pairs mentors with mentees and will foster collegial relationships and growth opportunities for younger licensing professionals.
The YMC Mentoring Program was officially launched in April 2019. As part of the launch of the Program, networking sessions were hosted entitled “War Stories: Tales of Licensing Adventures”, a second series took place on 30 August 2019 at which LESI President, Fiona Nicolson served on a panel together with Johan Nel (Sasol) and Johan du Preez (Adams). At these events our young members were enthralled by our senior members sharing some of their more exciting experiences in the profession and what they learnt from them.
We look forward to growing participation from our local community, and in the broader LESI community, though this initiative!
